€5,400 donated on behalf of all participants of the European Wind Energy Conference 2010!

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) has chosen to compensate for the carbon emissions of the EWEC 2010 by supporting the work of Renewable World. This donation will enable Renewable World to scale up their programme in Central America and improve the lives of many more poor people in the region by providing wind generated power which will light homes and power vital services such as schools and health centres and small businesses.

Last year, EWEA compensated for the carbon emissions from the European Offshore Wind Conference in Stockholm by supporting Renewable World micro hydro project in Mozambique. Mozambique remains one of the poorest countries in the world, but thanks to the donation from EWEA (5.000€) and the support of Renewable World, 80 families in the community of Ndirire are already benefitting from the power provided by the micro hydro station. This station is not only lighting their homes but powering a local clinic and grain milling facility, which is improving the health and welfare of people in this isolated and rural community.

Match our efforts!

If you or your company is looking for a way to compensate for its emissions, donate to Renewable World!

Carbon Compensation through Renewable World gives you the opportunity to support a renewable energy project in a developing country most affected by climate change.

Unlike traditional offsetting schemes, Renewable World guarantees that 100% of the money received will go directly to the projects and will not be lost in administration fees or profits.
